History, not prophecy

Looking back over what I have written it seems that my emphasis here is not so much to predict the future as much as to see that there is a clear historical pattern that makes it astoundingly obvious that we should be expecting something.

Don’t worry

In the last 5 years or so I have heard several gifted teachers and prophetically gifted people talking about the ever increasing fulfilment of prophecy that this generation is observing. These teachers are worthy of your attention. I get excited about some of these prophetic predictions but then I quieten myself and remember that Jesus did not give us these so that we would know exactly what was going to happen but that when the time was near we could be prepared and that we would not worry  when it did come to pass. It rather looks like the bottom is going to fall out of the bucket. Things will get horrible. But I don’t have to worry, I belong to Jesus and He’s got it covered!

The Big One

California is expecting the “big one”, meaning an earth quake. I’ve heard the same terminology applied to “super volcanoes” that could erupt and dramatically alter the Earth’s weather patterns. Then there is the big one in relation to meteor impacts. Or what about pandemics, not just a local viral outbreak, but a world-wide calamity.

Christians should also be expecting the “Big One”. Here are some options that the Bible offers...

  1. The double outpouring of God’s Spirit. It might start looking like a dramatic revival, but this will prepare the spot-less bride for Jesus’ return. It’s the Year of The LORD’s favour.

  2. The Anti-Christ appears and deceives many.

  3. A period of tribulation and horror.

  4. Jesus returns to rule and reign for a thousand years.

  5. All of the above in fairly rapid succession.

I’m voting for (E), but if that’s too much for you, just keep your eyes open for (A). What do I mean by rapid? Well, when you look at the following articles you will see that plus or minus 20 odd years, a generation so to speak, God has initiated dramatic “new things” every 1,000 and especially every 2,000 years! So read on.
